Anyone ever attempt to make a short term broadhead target for tuning and testing. I have a bag target and don't want to ruin it. Thought about looking for a styrofoam block or stacking newspaper or cardboard. Any suggestions would be great. I'd like to buy one but am now on a shoestring budget.

I made one with discarded plastic wrapping ( almost like saran wrap but thicker) from Harbor Freight Tools, just find out when their trucks come in
they just throw the wrapping out anyways. I just packed a card board box up REAL TIGHT with the wrapping and your good to go, I shot 70lb and it stops my carbon no problem but it does wear the bh out tho

Tractor Supply or Lowes, Etc and talk to the guy who unloads the trailers they sell, they come with 12" or so foam blocks you can put broadheads into, I just picked up 4 from TSC this morning for free! Don't last forever but again....it costs nothing

If you have the material that usually is in the bag targets, shoot it. Without the bag, you just lump it up on the ground, it will not go a foot into it. The downside is you have to unscrew the bh pull the shaft and reinstall the head. I have two post with a string across the top and put a target on the string attached with clothspins, it is that simple.

Put some old rags into a cardboard box, this works great for me as long as the broadheads are not super sharp, otherwise the first 2 or 3 shots might go through. The drawback is you have to unscrew your broadhead to get it out of the rags most of the time.

Default Thanks for the help

I took the advice and went behind Tractor Supply and there they were about 20 styro blocks 12"x18". Used one this morn. Worked fine but as stated will have a short life span. But thats ok seems like I'll have steady and cheap (free) supply. Thanks guys. Tom

Gather some OSB sheets and 2x4's. make a cube with the dimensions u choose with the wood.. use 2x4s as frame. use screws for easy removal.. on the top side of your cube drill a hole in it about 3/4" dia. then fill the entire thing with the yellow spray foam u can get at any harware store. once dried pull apart mold and wrap foam block with plastic wrap.. thats the best bh target i have seen... keep the mold and make as many as u want...
